It's Wintersun time again ! part 2 The Cars

THE FAMOUS WINTERSUN CAR PARADE
.
.
I'm not a huge fan of cars, no matter the vintage. I do, however, respect the incredible amount of time, love & money these people allocate to their hobbies - or obsession in some cases.
.

Saturday night the streets of Coolangatta were lined with folk, old an young alike. The crowds consisted of locals who do this every year...Tourists that stumbled upon the festival and Visitors both interstate and international who's sole purpose was to attend or take part in Wintersun this year.
.
Don't forget, you can enlarge the photos by clicking on them :)

I couldn't even hazard a guess at how many spectators were there.
.

Of course, there was the show offs..

A terrible waste of fuel but it was quite spectacular

.
In no particular order, here are some of the cars in the parade.

.

Now this was funny
.
Somehow a garbage truck got caught up in the parade whilst doing their work.
As they had to collect the rubbish bins (One would assume so the festival garbage didn't overflow?) they were holding up the line of cars waiting to pass the hoards of onlookers.
The garbos copt a bit of flack from the impatient shits who couldnt wait to see another of the 1500 cars or so flowing by.
Once all the bins had been collected the garbage truck had about 30 metres of clear road ahead of it. The driver span the wheels of that large beast - dropping a burn out.. in a garbage truck?
The crowd instantly forgave them for temporarily halting the parade and gave them whistles, cheers, huge applause & laughter.

Then the parade resumed

.
The obligatory Elvis mobile

The bonnet & the boot

This is Violet Crumble

The bonnet & boot

.

The inside
same fluff on roof lining & floor
do NOT go to sleep drunk in this car
be hard to tell which way is up!

Note for non aussies. Violet Crumble is a chocolate bar. Honeycomb with chocolate covering.
.

This one was a hit with the young kids

.

Just to prove
Rednecks are everywhere!

.
Croc Bikes
I thought these were gross..
yet interesting all the same

.
One would assume..
this is a work in progress?
nicely placed in a mud puddle..lol

.
As Wintersun is a rock'n'roll festival
Elvis is featured in many places

.
This sign says
1935 Ford Humpback Sedan
"99% home built, 50% driven, 10% Thrashed!"

.
Look what Daddy made me for Wintersun

.
Buy this one, its only
$35,000

Now, I know that is a lot of car pics for someone who isn't into cars but it is only a small selection of the photographs I took.
.
.
Still curious about what these guys are selling.
hmm.. I am in the market for a new job??
Would it be advisable to reword my resumé?
Would I need references?
Mwahahaha
