After such a hectic 6 weeks at work just prior to starting the holiday, this was utter bliss. Who cares if I stuff up the sequence of events? Not this black duck! Did I mention utter bliss?
AWOONGA DAM
Awoonga Dam - Tell me how I lived near this absolute gem for 3 years without knowing just how fantastic it was? Such a plethora of wildlife with a view to die for. So much fun to be had - how terribly sad I didnt know of it when I lived there. After reacquainting myself with salt & fresh water I realised how disgusting it is to work in an office day in day out. OK - So, it pays far more $$ then being chauffeured around in a boat all day - still.. there is no comparison to be made what so bloody ever. Water wins.. hands down.
Seeing the children being pulled along in the ski tube..hearing their excited squeals of laughter drift up to our palace on the hill..... priceless
The Palace on the Hill .. is an open cabin/shelter that has two long tables.. four long bench seats all under cover.....for zero cost. Infact everything at Awoonga is free..
Sorry to those shown in photographs.. .that.. well.. didnt have their permission sought ..maybe?- oh well, you know where I live if you want to kick my ass :D
Just outside your palace is a BBQ that is always stocked with firewood. I do not know how many shelters like this exist at Lake Awoonga but I am sure there are more than 20 of them. Hats off to whom ever designed this free for all outdoor setting!
I am trying not to post the same photographs as my dear friend did- but if I mess up.. then.. well.. shit happens ! You will just have to view them twice.
