Ive left this blog for 4 days before I posted. I had nothing remotely nice to say.

I worked at that job for 21 days.. equates to the one month trial I agreed to give them.

I drove 200kms per week for this job....

Worked my ass off - many more hours than I should have. Hours that were worked in 'lieu' but will now never be reclaimed by me.

Yep, boss man had me set up the office - working for $19 ph (much lower wage than I should get for that work load), then released me from employment and, now that the job was all set up - brought his daughter in .... We were due to renegotiate for a decent rate of pay on Monday morning. Friday afternoon I lost my job.

In his words " You did nothing wrong - there was no problem - we just want to trial someone else". Then when I put him under pressure.. questioning why, if you were happy with me, would you wish to bother trialling someone else... admitted that his daughter was comin to work for him.

There are names for people like this...

Dirty tricks... let's explain why you need to enroll to vote NOW.

The Howard Government's changes to the Electoral Act mean that many Australians, without their knowledge, will not be able to vote at the upcoming Federal Election. Make sure that your family and friends are enrolled to vote - and enrolled correctly.

If you are NOT enrolled to vote BEFORE the election is called (before they announce the date of the election), then you will not be able to vote at this election. Very kindly of them, you can still enroll after that time.. but not actually vote at this Federal election.. how sneaky is that eh?

Did anyone see THAT point explained in all those lovely expensive TV adverts the current government are paying for ( i.e YOU are paying for ) NO ! Not a word said about it. They nicely omitted that important part didnt they?

ENROLL NOW - they could call the election any day.....make your vote count - pass the word on please.

I'm still kickin !

Started a new job Friday 20th July... long hours and even a longer drive home in the afternoons. Gotta love Gold Coast bottle necks.. NOT .. argh !

I have not given up on this blog, but between the new job and family illness, time has just not stretched enough to allow blogging.

I have no wit, no funny url's.. and story telling about the new job would be boring as hell.

I started as receptionist and PA for a couple that run 4 companies. As of today, I am now book keeper / accounts / PA .. and I have to find a replacement for the job I am vacating. Of course, I will be doing said job till I DO FIND the replacement.. lol .. oh well.. I do so hate being bored?

Hopefully things will balance out soon and I will bring some funnies to the blog :D

Want to fly with Qantas?

Never let it be said that Qantas ground crews lack a sense of humour.


After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet", which tells mechanics about any problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. According to a recent email I received, here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

Although this is my kind of sarcasm, I swear, I have never worked in maintenance for Qantas.... truely...

P: Left inside main tyre almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tyre.


P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.


P: Something loose in cockpit.
S: Something tightened in cockpit.


P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.


P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.


P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.


P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.


P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what friction locks are for.


P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.


P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.


P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.


P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.


P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

S: Cat installed.


P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget.

John would be proud - artists make a stand for human rights

Even as a young child, I had incredible respect for John Lennon and his beliefs.


Those of you that know me personally know just how much many of his principles have shaped the way I think.

“My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.”...JOHN LENNON

One of the darkest days I can recall was when I found out John had been murdered. Aside from the obvious and sad loss of a husband (to Yoko), a father (to John's children), a musical virtuoso (to us fans) I saw it as a huge loss to the promotion of human rights and peace protests of our era. The movements that John was so dedicated to.

John Lennon connected with people.

People related to John.

He was a very rare person, an influential activist.

Without John, how many others had the ability via music, or any other avenue, to get the message out so distinctly to earth's inhabitants. Who had the guts to stand up in the face of those in power and give them what for?

Bob Geldof stood up and shouldered some of the responsibility.

He was the face of, and the driving force behind, Band Aid & Band Aid 20 - and now, amongst other things, does a fantastic job fighting to Make Poverty History.

Bob is extremely vocal and very well informed. I respect him greatly on this issue - but not on all of his beliefs.

This work is a great gesture from musical artists of today. I'm sure John would be very impressed and honoured to have his music played by a new generation and more importantly, still sending out his message.

Yoko Ono granted the rights to John Lennon’s entire solo songbook to Amnesty International (the world’s largest grassroots human rights organisation) to use as the centerpiece of this project and to inspire and invigorate a new generation of human rights activists.

As a solo artist, John Lennon's unique talent and passionate campaign for world peace made him one of the most influential activists the world has ever known.

"Peace is no violence, no frustration, no fear," claimed Lennon - and with this lyrical mantra, he strived to promote the issues he believed in, inspiring change through music which both provoked and united communities.

In a world plagued by war, poverty, and fear, John's message is just as relevant today as it was when first written.
